Surviving Syracuse Airport: The Ultimate Travel Guide

The Ultimate Travel Guide to Syracuse Airport

Do you live in Tioga County? If so, then the Syracuse Airport is the best way to get there. Check out the ultimate guide to surviving Syracuse Airport!

With 2.32 million people flying into and out of Syracuse Hancock International Airport in 2018, it was one of the most popular years on record for the airport. That's a nearly 12 percent increase from the year before and represents pre-recession highs.

If you plan on heading to the Syracuse Airport sometime soon, make sure you have a plan for getting there. Many people prefer hiring a taxi as opposed to leaving their cars in the lot.

And if you happen to get some free time in this bustling airport, don't get overwhelmed. We've got you covered.

Continue reading and we'll walk you through everything you need to know about getting around the Syracuse Airport.

Say Si Bon!

Located in the center terminal, just before security, Say Si Bon! is one of the latest restaurants to join the airport. This is a tasty grab-and-go cafe that's also part of a national chain.

The eatery offers tasty breakfast sandwiches, wraps, cold drinks, and coffee. They also sell toys, tech products, snacks, books, souvenirs, clothing, and magazines. The only pre-security restaurant, this is the spot to go to if you want something to eat before checking your bags.

Natale’s International Airport Barber Shop

Another pre-security business, Natale's is a popular barbershop among frequent flyers. The shop is run by Natale himself and they take appointments and walk-ins. In fact, one Yelp reviewer called Natale "quite possibly the best barber in the US."

It's an institution that's been around for decades and is located on the second floor in the South Terminal. They are open from 7 am to 6 pm Monday - Friday and 7 am to 5:30 pm on Saturdays.

Middle Ages Brewing Company

Have a long night ahead of you or got the pre-flight jitters? Calm your nerves at Middle Ages Brewing Company. The restaurant has locations in both the South and North Terminals so that all flyers can get easy access.

Open from 5 am to the last flight departure, they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They offer delicious bar food including cheesy nachos, hearty sandwiches, and salads and flatbreads. On their breakfast menu, you can find eggs, bagels, and french toast.

Other Popular Restaurants

The Syracuse Hancock International Airport also sports a number of popular chains that you're likely to find in the majority of American airports. Their Dunkin Donuts is located at the Center Checkpoint and is open from 4:30 am to 7 pm.

Those in the North Terminal should stop by the Johnny Rockets for shakes and burgers. That restaurant is open from 10:30 am to the last flight departure.

A Jamba Juice is also located at the Center Checkpoint. It's open from 4:30 am to 7 pm every day.

More Shops

Left your headphones behind? Don't worry. Just head on over to the CNBC Smartshop.

It's located in the North Terminal and is open from 4 am to last flight departure.

And if you're looking for a juicy airplane novel to read for the next few hours, then stop by Heritage Books. They're in the South Terminal and are open from 4:15 am to last flight departure.
